System Overview

  • Client/server utilising Microsoft™ SQL server.
  • Single or multiple sites with single or multiple PC’s interconnected by LAN/WAN
  • Integration with third party systems. Interfacing to security alarm companies, hospital nurse call, asset management, inventory control, logistics and production control systems by Protrac cascade able relay interfaces, ASCII or via the internet using an optional IBM™ MQ WebSphere™ interface
  • Graphical User Interface. Real time locations of assets, equipment and people located on floor plans or maps.
  • Interconnection with remote readers is by RS 422 multi drop directly from a single PC. In larger sites and multi building applications readers are connected via LAN interconnected Remote Communication Modules using TCP/IP
  • The remote readers are interconnected and powered via a CAT5 cable.
  • Remote readers also communicate via TCP/IP, Blue Tooth, GSM/GPRS and RF modems including “leaky Coax”
  • Comprehensive Database and Database search functions

Features

TAG LINKING. Often referred to as “Parent and Child” linking.

  • Static Tag Linking- The movement of Assets or people with relationship to each other are defined in Static Parent and Child linking rules.
  • Dynamic Tag Linking-Tags are automatically grouped together and tracked as a group where conditions defined in Static Parent and Child linking rules apply.

These rules have wide application in security, Occupational Health and Safety, and all areas of asset management, for example;

  • Security. A lap top computer (child tag) may be allowed to exit a building only in the presence of a nominated person(s) (parent tag).
  • PatientTrac. An Alzheimer’s patient raises an alarm leaving a safe area when not accompanied by a nurse (parent).
  • MineTrac. Collisions and accidents between workers and equipment are reduced by detecting when Parent and Child tags are too close.
  • Assets, inventory and people (children) leaving a nominated point or exit are automatically assigned as being with the vehicle transporting them (parent) for selected tags and locations.

ALARM MONITORING

In addition to locating tracking and linking assets and people, selections are provided for monitoring of individual or all assets or people to create:

Alarm on missing
  • Tags that are constantly monitored and are no longer being received.
Alarm on tamper
  • Portable assets with tag types that have a tamper sensor.

Alarm on movement
Fixed assets with tag types that have a tamper sensor.

Alarm on zone violation
  • An asset or person enters a prohibited zone or exit.

Alarms and messages or actions associated with tag linking rules.
  • An asset or person violates Parent to Child rules.

OPERATOR WORKSTATION

Alarms are displayed prominently on selected operator screens with an audible alert. Alarms to other systems, services, or monitoring organisations are transmitted as required with appropriate interconnections.

  • Operator action, comment and clearance field provided for each alarm.
  • Alarm audit trail.
  • Individual operator user name and password are required when assigned
  • Operator access levels etermine what field’s an operator edits or controls.

DATA BASE RECORDS

  • Item, person name or description.
  • ID Number. Internal asset number, personnel number or other selected data.
  • Serial Number of item or other data.
  • Tag Number. The number of the RFID tag attached to the person or item.
  • Home Location The nominated home, office, cost centre, or normal location of a person or item.
  • Parent and child rules selections for static and dynamic tag linking.
  • Event mapping and output relay control settings (Defines what output relays operate when selected events occur)
  • Photograph of asset or person
  • User defined fields.

STANDARD REPORTS
